Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
My Debt Freedom (“the App”) is a privacy-first iOS companion for listing debts and planning a payoff. This policy explains what the App stores and what it does not collect.
Summary
- Your debts, payments, plan settings, and awards stay on this iPhone.
- There is no My Debt Freedom account and no server of ours that receives that information.
- We do not connect to your bank.
- We do not show ads or use third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell your data.
Information the App stores on your device
If you choose to use the App, it stores locally: debt names and types, balances, APRs, minimum payments, due days, extra-payment amounts, payment history, plan preferences, reminder preferences, and award progress. Optional Face ID / device lock preference is stored in on-device settings.
What we do not collect
We do not operate a backend that receives your debt list. We do not require an email address or login. We do not access contacts, photos, location, or motion data for this product. We do not use your information for advertising.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Freedom, Apple processes the purchase through the App Store. We do not see your payment card or Apple ID. Apple may process transaction data under Apple’s privacy policy.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the App schedules local notifications on the device (typically three days before a due day and again on the due day). Optional encouragement check-ins are also local. Notification permission is requested only if you enable reminders.
Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode
An optional lock can require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before the debt list is shown. Biometric data stays on the device and is never sent to us. Unlocking uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework.
On-device coach
On supported devices (iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence available), optional coach chat runs on the device. Debt numbers may be passed into that on-device model so it can call the App’s payoff engine. They are not sent to My Debt Freedom servers. If Apple Intelligence is not available, you can still use the Found Money planner without chat.
iCloud and backups
If you back up this iPhone with iCloud or Finder, Apple’s backup may include the App’s local store. That backup is controlled by you and Apple, not by a My Debt Freedom service.
Deletion
You can delete individual debts or use Settings → Delete all data to remove debts, payments, and awards on this device. Uninstalling the App removes its local data unless it is restored from a backup.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
